the cry of a peacock
looking for answers
Comment: a haiku based on the humanization of the peacock (kujaku 孔雀) in line 2 and on a convincing unification (itchi 一致) between nature and human events.
The news we hear every day on radio and television feeds a sense of concern about the future of humanity (wars, climate changes, etc.). The peafowl’s cry (koe 声) therefore represents the request of the planet for an immediate change, as well as the unheard lament of a wounded and dying ecosystem that tries to make sense of this madness.
After reading this haiku, I am wondering what a peacock sounds like.
