Praniti Gulyani (India)

after the rain…
another layer of sky
on my umbrella

Comment: a light and delicate (karui 軽い) poem with a feel of continuity and contiguity between the two parts or ku that is reinforced by the use of the ellipsis at the end of line 1. Moreover, these three dots seem to render even ‘graphically’ the drops of rain (amadare 雨垂れ) left on the umbrella, favoring an even more effective aesthetic immersion or tanbi 耽美. The ‘layer of sky’ (sora no chisō 空の地層) mentioned in the second line can either be read in a chromatic/objective or in a figurative, subjective (and even spiritual) way.
